The story

The orvietano group dancamus was born in 1999 by the common interest for the rediscovery of the medieval life of our own city and region , following a path which is divided between cultural tradition and the local folklore. Born by the collaboration with the “Lea Pacini” association which, 55  years ago founded the suggestive orvietano historical parade. The group is made of professional artists (all women) in music range and tersicoreo, specialized year by year on ancient music and dance. Musicians perform song and instrumental pieces, both sacred and profane and the dancers interpret choreographies of high and short dance, results of specific research on that age texts and iconography. Costumes and music instruments come from a handmade work by reconstruction and medieval commemoration specialized artists. Nowadays the group boasts of many exhibitions and shows within festivals, concerts, Italian and foreign TV shows, historical parades and medieval commemorations.
